about

Rewind back the Blackburn Warehouse scene of the early 90’s and Dan’s tracks under the alias Void (with DJ Welly) were smashing up the floors!

Dan’s first memory of pop music, was Mersey beat and Elvis as a kid and as he got older it was the Clash, Blondie, the Jam, The Specials etc., followed by the whole punk ska mod scene. He first realized he wanted to make music after meeting the electro pioneer and DJ legend Greg Wilson. At that time Greg was remixing Frankie Goes to Hollywood at the time and managing a break dance outfit called Manchester Broken Glass (they were later known as Ruthless Rap Assassins. Then the dawn of Acid House had broken and was shining through the curtains and the whole of that scene just engulfed Dan and Paul Welding .

As Void their 1st 3 track EP was released by Blackpool promo firm Neuro Productions. Whilst Dan was tinkering on the keyboard and Welly was working at Manchester Underground Records the EP release through them into remixing for Deconstruction doing demos for Blunted (Island Records) & Peer Publishing. Dina Carol, The bass Heads and Evolution to name but a few. Kenny Grogan owner of Manchester Underground Records (until the IRA blew it up) threw VOID into the studio and their first track , Orcana, was revamped and turned into what today has been said to be an original prog classic.

Being a self proclaimed record producer and writer, I (and Void) end up in Glasgow with recording premises in the Hills where Dan was introduced to Glasgow Godfather of house and the legendary Sub Club DJ Harri by Island records A&R guy Gavin Wright. Harri and Dan hit it off and released tracks on Soma’s Bomba records and remixed tracks for Visnadi of Italy one of the tracks being Harri vs Visnadi. We enjoyed a cult success with the track, Laika, under the name H Foundation and in 1994 legendary John Peel listed it as number 11 in his 1994 Festive 50.

Life returned to normality and Dan ended up moving back to Wigan where fatherhood beckoned and in between this carried on working with DJ Welly remixing (for Fantastic records) and in’99 co- wrote and produced a mini album with (Folk Rock writer/ producer_ John Kettle of The Tansads. DJ Welly’s and Dan’s last work together was under Transient Blues (Nerv Tonic) and Prince of Thieves where they cheekily remixed Michael Jacksons Thriller and Prince’s 1999. Welly emigrated to Oz and Dan ended up chatting to Stu Bolton in a Wigan boozer and whilst living there formed Haloron and Dan continued writing and producing

Fast forward to 2010 Dan has moved to London, 2011 he packed in his construction job after his fiancé insisted one of them realize their creative passions and he’s been making sounds ever since.

October 2013 Good Bye and Let yourself Go are signed by esteemed producer and label boss Roland Bartha’s Mjuzieek Label….

Music is Life – Live your Dreams.
